A beautifully illustrated picture-book with a sweet and heartwarming story which is sure to delight the four to eight year old audience it serves.
One of a popular series featuring Davy the rabbit, this edition has Davy, growing up fast and eager to prove himself to his parents, offering to take his sister on his sled, along with a special baked treat from his mum, to his nearby grandparents house for a visit.
The visit is a joy, right up until Davy loses his way on the path through the forest leading to home. Keeping himself and his sister safe until help arrives, Davy remembers the advice he had been given and teaches us all a lesson about responsibility, as he cares tenderly for his younger sibling. Finding them a safe haven in a log, Davy stays in one place waiting for help to arrive, and tells soothing stories guaranteed to please his little sister.
Highly recommended, this book is absolutely charming, topped off with some of the cuddliest bunny, forest, and softly-blanketing snow images you are likely to find in children’s fiction anywhere.
A great big thank you to #Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC of this lovely book. All thoughts presented are my own.
