A big and beautiful book, taking the reader on a fascinating journey through the science of futurism, covering just about every conceivable aspect of technology, real or imagined, and the authors (an academic clinical neurologist and president of the New England Skeptical society) expert opinion on a plausible prediction of where it may take us, decades or even centuries down the road.
As the author elucidates on everything from stem cells, AI, genetics and self driving cars to space travel, synthetic life and artificial gravity, it’s impossible not to feel both excited and awed by how far technology has come, and the limitless places it may land us in next.
Always entertaining, this book was a pure delight from start to finish. If the actual future ends up coming even mildly close to some of the insights shared here, all I can say is, it’s going to be a wild one.
